Q Think about a commercial advertising you remember that you personally liked or found outstanding/interesting. Search on the web for the ad in video format, for example in YouTube (the commercial must be short, not longer than 30 seconds). You will analyze the ad in order to identify the creative strategy elements in each of the four categories covered in Chapter 13 1. In your initial post: you will provide the URL link where you found the video commercial and briefly describe what is the company/brand and the product advertised. Also, clearly identify using black bold font the corresponding creative element employed in each of the following: a) advertising appeal, b) executional format, c) tonality and d) creative tactic/technology. You will identify 1 element per category, so you will describe 4 elements in total. Discuss why you think the company/brand decided to use those creative elements in relation to the product or service offered. o See the list of creative elements and examples in Figure 13.9, page 486 of the textbook, and also in the class slides. 2. In your follow-up posts: you will go to other classmates’ posts (at least two), read his/her posts, watch their ads, and explain how and why the ads are supposed to be effective (or not) in communicating with their target audience. Also, briefly discuss what you think is the ‘unique selling proposition’ portrayed through the commercial.
